Welcome to the Team Eric Tippy

One of our newest carrier managers is an Ironman — going the extra mile for our carriers and on the triathlon course. At work, he’s building and maintaining carrier relationships, nurturing connections with current and new carriers, and ensuring high-quality, cost-effective, timely logistics services to exceed our customers’ expectations. When he’s not doing such, he spends his time swimming, running and cycling. He enjoys it so much that he’s completed two full Ironmans, five half-distance Ironmans and three marathons. Oh, and did we mention he competed in the 2024 Ironman World Championship in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii? If you’re a person who enjoys knowing others’ finish times, he completed the course in 11 hours, 11 mins and 36 seconds.

Eric Tippy hails from Lafayette, Indiana, and Purdue University (see what we did there). He has spent 10 years in the transportation industry. Although he has experience in the customer and asset side of the industry, Eric says he finds the logistics side the most rewarding. Eric has always been infatuated with the supply chain; he really enjoys the process of developing relationships and being able to add value to customers and carriers alike. Eric, his wife, and their seven-year-old Golden Retriever, Aspen, reside in Indianapolis, Indiana.

What are you most excited about in your new role?

I am excited to help Stutsman Logistics expand our network and footprint east of the Mississippi River.

Who has influenced your career the most?

My parents influenced my career through their values, expectations, support and the environment they created, shaping my choices and opportunities along the way.

If you could snap your fingers and become an expert at something, what would it be?

I always dreamed of playing in the MLB as a kid, but I could never figure out how to hit a curveball in high school. So, I would love to be an expert at swinging a baseball bat at the level of an MLB player.

What is the best advice you have ever been given?

“If you’re five minutes early, you are late.” – Jake Burton, High School Baseball Coach at McCutcheon.

What is on your bucket list?

I would like to hike the Tour du Mont Blanc in Chamonix, France.

Which Stutsman Core Value means the most to you?

Radiate Enthusiasm. When someone radiates enthusiasm, it can inspire, motivate and uplift those around them.
